Sobering...

Great reminder that we're a part of history, whether we acknowledge that or not. It's terrible to think that Trump has wrecked our country not just for his term in office, but long long after.

My thought on U.S.-Israel war against Iran. One more of dozens of U.S. imperialistic interventions that will likely achieve nothing. Governments started by revolutions, regardless of their political ideology, almost never fall except by their own design: See China, Cuba and Nicaragua, with Iran likely to join the club..

The U.S.A, started by a revolution, is headed in the way of the British Empire that preceded it, its demise begun by fighting against the independence movements of British colonies worldwide, beginning in Africa in the 19th century and then spreading to India in 1947. Such interventionism marked the demise of the British Empire, war which drove it into bankruptcy.

This war may do the same to the USA, while propping up the world's two most villainous actors besides Trump, Netanyahu (93% of Israel’s population is for the war) and Putin, whose oil-producing country is benefiting from high oil prices, helping sustain its war in Ukraine.

But this war also helps China, because an oil shortage worldwide, even if temporary, will prop up its production of wind turbines, solar panels and electric vehicles. China, despite its authoritarian government which I condemn, is a country that, instead of invading developing countries, invests in them. See: its Road and Belt initiatives in Africa and South America.

An you mentioned Genghis Kahn, So I had to include this link to a very funny cartoon by B. Kliban, from his book Never Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head & Other Drawings.
