Dylan the artist may have been inspiring (especially in the 1960s and '70s). But his public behavior has often been excruciatingly childish. Case in point: In 2016, he was honored with the first Nobel Prize in Literature ever awarded to a song writer. But his initial reponse was to treat that remarkable honor with silent, absolutely shameful contempt, as though it somehow tarnished his already very rusty self-image as a rebel and maverick.
